Making a move
A couple of weeks ago, Graham Matthews made what I keep referring to in my mind as ’the big move’. We have gone from the low key manicured streets of Chelsea, to the fast-paced whirl of suits and heels in the heart of the City at our new offices in Bank. We’ve moved from an open-plan office to our own defined space with a slick interior and chill-out areas layered with grass. With any period of change comes the inevitable nostalgia, and an air of excitement and anticipation as to what the future will bring.
Now and then
As someone relatively new to Graham Matthews, it is clear to see that this is a company that has gone from strength to strength. Starting up a business has its risks, and along with it, its rewards. Graham Matthews has most certainly been reaping the rewards of dedication, commitment and hard work as we approach our third birthday in March.
On March 3rd 2015 Graham Matthews launched; at the time it was just the founder, a laptop and a phone. Fast forward to 2017 and we have grown to company of eight with a new consultant joining the company next week and we intend to double in size in 2018. We’ve come from making 58 placements in our first nine months in 2015, to a record-breaking 264 placements this year – impressive by any standards; with December still to come!
Our NHS team have worked with over 60 NHS Trusts; managing full scale EPR deployments, helping to reduce cancer and RTT waiting times, assisting with large data warehouse builds and, providing staff from senior management to executives to help run different service areas to keep hospitals functioning efficiently. Our tech team has gone from strength to strength, partnering with some of the most revolutionary start-ups, leading funds and fintechs across London.
In April this year we opened a Workday Division partnering with some of the worlds leading blue-chip and FTSE 250 organisations. This has allowed us to expand internationally; working with clients across Europe and the United States, placing candidates across several locations worldwide and we now have plans to open our first international office in 2019.
This year’s hard work has lead us to increase our annual revenue for 2017 by 60% to over £4 Million.
It’s refreshing to join a business with such a great culture and career development prospects, and also where success is rewarded by a variety of incentives: the monthly lunch clubs, a weekend in Marbella, and another trip away to Prague or maybe even Las Vegas just before Christmas (target pending)! Did I mention we have a putting green in the office?!
What’s next?
We have set a benchmark this year and this is a standard we intend to maintain as we move into 2018. Businesses are all about people, and we are only going to improve on what we have achieved this year by attracting and hiring more talented people!
If you are, or aspire to be, a top performing consultant, we will provide the platform, development and coaching to further your career. We’re looking for those with experience in a 360 recruitment role who want to be part of a successful business. We’re different from most recruitment companies.
